WE ARE ON OUR WAY AGAIN

We are on the road again after a three month hiatus in a lovely park in Mesa, AZ to see old friends, do dr. and dentist checkups, minor adjustments in the RV and rest up a bit.

We try to keep our travel mileage to around 200, so our first stop was out in the desert in Quartzite, AZ near the California border. Seen from the highway, you might wonder why anyone would stop in Quartzite but the desert is covered with thousands of RVs doing just that. There is something about driving out across the desert and stopping wherever you chose, there are no borders. The desert is in full bloom now and the hills and desert floor and a luscious green because of all the rains and it is beautiful. The open space and fresh air are exhilarating. The aroma of campfires wafts on the breeze. At night the stars are so bright because of no city lights to interfere. It feels like you can almost reach out and touch them. All this and the cost is free. What a deal.

We are now in a gorgeous park near Palm Springs. We will be here for four days visiting old friends. Things are so different now than when we full-timed before. We didn’t find any women on the road then and that is why we started RVing Women. Now we have friends all over the US to stop and visit. With our new systems of cellular phone and satellite internet, we are also able to keep in touch with the folks we’ve left behind. It’s a great life.

From here we head to Lake Havasu City and then Death Valley. It has been quite warm here (upper 80s) so wonder what it will be like in Death Valley. You know me though, I found a great restaurant in Death Valley that we will have to visit. We’ll also visit Joshua Tree National Park and Parker on the Colorado River on the way plus Laughlin and its casinos.
