HEADING FOR ARIZONA
The Lion King performance was as wonderful as the other productions we had seen: the colors, the puppets, the music. Fantastic! We also made connection with Gloria, the RVW member from Brooklyn, before we left New Jersey. She took us to a section in Newark that is a little Portuguese settlement. All of the stores are in Portuguese and most of the people speak Portuguese. We went to a Brazilian restaurant where I had feijada that rivaled what I had in Brazil. The servings were so large that we ended up with four meals each off of them. Then Gloria insisted on introducing us to a small custard pie that she loved in Portugal and we found a bakery that served them. She said they were not as good as in Portugal but they tasted mighty good to us.
Since then we have been heading south. We had Thanksgiving with old friends, Nancy and Nancy in North Carolina with a view of the Atlantic and the inland waterway. This was one marvelous meal.
Because of the warm fall, we have had the pleasure of also following the turning leaves as we traveled. We stayed on a wonderful lake in Georgia and dodged tornadoes in Alabama. We are now in Mississippi and headed tomorrow for near Ruston, Louisiana. We will be there three days with an RV guru who will put the finishing touches on our RV. Everyone raves about his work and we already had him do some work at the rally in Wyoming.
After that we are heading back to Mesa, Arizona as quickly as possible. We plan to be there about December 14. We look forward to seeing old friends and getting Lovern’s shoulder fixed.
