PALM SPRINGS TO LAKE HAVASU

Well, we’ve already changed our itinerary. After a wonderful visit to the Palm Springs area to see old friends Fran and Janie (happily Vel and Sherry joined us there for dinner) and Howard and Jack, we decided to go to Joshua Tree National Park another time. We headed straight for Parker, AZ and the shores of the Colorado River. Unfortunately, we found the recent heavy rains had mad the beach a sea of mud. Undaunted, we moved on to our next stop, Sandpoint Marina to find it choc-a-block with crowded spaces and herds of young spring vacationers. With visions of loud parties and noisy skidoos on the lake we moved on again to finally settle at Havasu Falls RV Park for a week.

Although we are not right on Lake Havasu, we can still see it if we stretch our heads just the right way. Lake Havasu City has changed tremendously since our last visit about 20 years ago. It is really built up and London Bridge Village has really gone down. Most of the shops there are closed and the rest aren’t worth visiting. Sad. Since there isn’t much to see here, we are using the time to catch up on business, maintenance, writing, laundry and grocery shopping.

Now, on to Laughlin (we are staying in a casino RV park) and then to Death Valley.
